Applied Anatomy Series- Shoulder & Neck
Two of the most common areas of dysfunction and misalignment are the neck and shoulder and as instructors we are constantly attempting to correct alignment and movement. The neck is often the cause of stress and tension and in turn can affect correct spinal function. In this workshop we will explore the Upper Quadrant from an injury and postural stand point and how Pilates can help. We will look at the functional anatomy of the thoracic and cervical spine as well as the shoulder, delving deeper into the ‘Pilates Shoulder’ and how misinterpretation of the research has lead to poor application.
